Caithness to the Cote D'Azur

David Whyte

The first British winner of the Monte Carlo Rally was Victor Bruce in 1926 driving an A.C. starting from John O' Groats in northern Scotland. This was the only official U.K. starting point for the rally between 1926 and 1939. More than 200 men and women started the rally from Scotland during that time and this book tells their story. Cars such as Rolls Royce, Lagonda, Bugatti, Sunbeam and Jaguar competed alongside M.G.'s, Rileys and Singers. The story is brought up to date with an account of the Monte Carlo Classique returning to the John O' Groats' start in January 2016.
